Hubballi Police Arrest Five for Harassing a Minor Girl

Hubballi: The Old Hubballi police have arrested five individuals in connection with the harassment of a minor girl, an incident that recently came to light through media reports and viral videos on social media. The swift action was taken following a complaint filed by the girl’s parents.

The case was registered under the IPC and POCSO Act at the Old Hubballi police station. Acting on the complaint, a team led by Inspector S. H. Yallur was formed to apprehend the accused. Within just two hours, the police arrested two suspects, Shubham Tadas and Mehboob Hittalamani, both residents of Ayodhya Nagar in Old Hubballi. They were produced before the court.

Further investigations led to the arrest of three more suspects, Sagar Satpute, Srivatsa Bendigeri, and Sachin Narendra, residents of New Ayodhya Nagar. The police recovered six mobile phones and a two-wheeler used in the crime from the accused.

 

Preliminary inquiries revealed that Shubham Tadas has two prior cases registered at the Kasabapet and Old Hubballi police stations, while Sagar Satpute also has two previous cases at the Old Hubballi police station. Sachin Narendra has one prior case registered against him at the same station.

 

The operation was successfully carried out by a team comprising PSI Rudrappa Gududari, ASI P. B. Kale, and personnel Fakirresh Gobbargumpi, Abhay Kannalli, Nagaraj Kenchannavar, Krishna Motebennur, Santosh Valyapur, Ramesh Halle, Kallangowda Guranagowda, Vittal Hosalli, and Jagadish Goundi. The team’s efforts were lauded by the Police Commissioner for their swift action and efficiency.

 

The accused are now in judicial custody, and further investigations are underway.
